The Countdown has begun
10 days. 10 days gamers. In 10 days, Nintendo will release some more info on their 5th console codenamed Revolution. In 10 days, Mr. Reggie will speak at D.I.C.E. Will we be disappointed? I’m not sure; all I know is that Nintendo themselves stated in Nintendo Power to watch out on February 9th 2006. My mind is a buzz with what could go down. Will we find out the last secret that Nintendo has been hiding? Will we hear anything about the new Mario title that is inevitably coming? Release dates? SCREEN SHOTS? SOMETHING….ANYTHING?!!?!??!? My guess- I think we’ll get some more hype and possibly a release date. Anything further would be a surprise. What do you guys think? Is Nintendo going to tease us, or are we going to get some solid info? Only time will tell, but we will be here to report it. Game ON!

Well in all the excitement of the new up and coming news about the new Nintendo system, I do have to say that I am interested also. I can only imagine what information is contained in the declassification of Nintendo’s Revolution secrets. My hope is for some improved innovation in the controller category. I fall short in understanding how the same company that produced the Wave Bird could even conceive the notion of releasing the two piece blunder. With this product, Nintendo really spear headed the move of controllers to a better wireless platform. The only complaint I have about the Wave Bird is that you have to connect it to the Game Cube to use it. Now that they are attempting to move once again to another level of controller development, I find myself predicting a release of a new design shortly after the public gets this awkward thing in their hands. After all why not, Nintendo has a history of redesigning products to be the way that they should have been in the first place (NES top loader system and Oh yeah… and EVERY handheld gaming system they have produced). Fear not Nintendo, you are not alone. Everyone still sees the predecessor of the Microsoft S controller being sold, used, at GameStop for like 50¢.
Innovation and redesign are all apart of the evolution of gaming. The revolution controller will be the bench mark set for other controllers to follow. It is essentially a three demensional mouse; a perfect fit for 1st person shooter and RTS games. I am interested to see companies pool their resources together and come up with brilliant desings that will only be found on Nintendo’s revolution. Game ON
I still hope they have a cradle that resembles a regular controller. I mean they have to so they dont scare all the 3rd party publishers away!
