I have seen a lot of things but a blatant rip off of the Nintendogs game is just wrong. In a move that is no surprise to me, Sony Computer Entertainment is now going to be coming out with a game that is remarkably similar to Nintendo’s own; Nintendogs. Nintendogs was wildly popular pretty much everywhere it went. It sold wel in Japan and had the same response here in the States. A “spin off”, or a similar game was inevitable, but this new game looks like a carbon copy of the Nintendo game. Come on Sony, be original.

I think that at this point in the video game industry the startling lack of innovation in game development is as much of a disappointment as… well… something really disappointing. It find it difficult to get excited about any system when I feel like most of the games that come out are sequels, and on top of that sequels of games no one likes (well maybe that is a little over the top). Lets look at the Xbox 360, any one can see that it is a good system and of course blows any other available system out of the water, but as far as the games that were released with it; how many were sequels? Oh and just to be clear, your not fooling anyone Microsoft, I played Perfect Dark on N64 like 10 years ago. All this side though, let’s be fair, Nintendogs feels allot like an upgrade of the Gigapet 3rd grade girls were going wild over just a few years ago. So before we start to blame anyone for copying anyone, I think we can all agree that video game companies have been taking notes from the Pirates of Silicon Valley when they should have been looking for new talent.

Good point. Nintendo has been encouraging 3rd parties to truly make something unique and different when it comes to the revolution. Big ideas will pay off, and we as gamers need to purchase these innovative titles. Otherwise we will be soaked with sequels upon sequels.
