20 Million Can’t be Bad

Nintendo has announced that the total sales of their handheld console, Nintendo DS(and DS Lite) have surpassed the 20 million mark. They estimate that 21,270,000 have been sold since it was introduced in November 2004.

Nintendo’s innovation sold 4.5 million DS consoles in the first quarter of 2006. Nintendo also expects the new DS Lite to sell 17 million between April 2006 and March 2007. That would bring the total amount of consoles sold to a staggering 40 million units in the first 2 and a half years!
