Wii Graphics Debate

Wow. Click hereto read an amazing article about how Gamecube had/has great graphics and that everyone needs to watch what they say. Anyone who is worried about how Wii games will look, don’t. We are going to be just fine come November. Here is a quote from the article:

Over the past month or year, people on videogame forums and on the internet in general have been complaining about the Wii and its so-called low power that is considered weak when compared to the other next-gen systems. They seem to think that the games will just look like crap when compared to the PS3 and Xbox360. Let me ask you now to go back and play some of the best looking Gamecube games like Starfox Adventures, Resident Evil 4, Rouge Squadron 2 and Rebel Strike and tell me that you are not impressed by what that system can/could do

Well put metaldave. I hope that a ton if people link to your story.

Controlling Harvest Moon for Wii

In case you missed it, Harvest Moon is coming to Wii, and the latest Famitsu explains how the controls will work for the newest entry in the farm simulator series. Big thanks to Nintendojo for the story.

The game revolves around a small island, upon which a life-giving tree disappears, as does the island’s matron goddess. Enlisted by the Koropokuru, the game’s protagonist is charged with the task of farming the land, cultivating relationships with other people, and restoring the tree and deity through his work.

Performing chores is fairly intuitive. Swinging the freehand remote like a hoe is how virtual farmers till the land, while tilting the controller downwards simulates watering crops with a bucket. Other games like fishing and animal husbandry will also utilize the motion-sensitive functions.

The Control Pad will be used to select and utilize tools from the player’s arsenal, and the A button will perform several context-sensitive actions. The title does not yet have an official title, and no release date has been set.

My Thoughts:
What a natural fit for the wii-mote. Actually doing the tasks at hand through the motions that you will have to make is an ingenious idea and should prove to be a very unique title. Where else can you get this experience?
