No Region Free for You!

Nintendo of America has finally confirmed that the Wii will be region locked for both first and third party games. Nintendo issued this statement Nintendo Wii will be region locked by territory.

The whole issue started when Nintendos own Perrin Kaplan stated that the Wii will be region free, and then a Nintendo UK representative said Kaplan was wrong. Click here for the interview in which Kaplan says it will be region free.

My Thoughts:
I thought this was too good to be true. I was really hoping that Wii would be region free so I could import some crazy Japanese titles. I am sure that we will probably get a code breaker, or something of that matter, to help importers play Japanese titles on their American systems.
