Grand Theft Wii?

If we remember last generation (I know it may be far away for some of you), Nintendo’s 4th console, Gamecube, did not see a Grand Theft Auto game on their little system. No doubt the sales of the GTA series is a force to be reckoned with, and undoubtedly hurt Gamecube sales in the process. Nintendo, once again, was viewed as a “kid console” due to the fact it did not have the controversial game.

Well gamers, that could all change when Wii hits store shelves this November. Speaking to MTV, Nintendo of America COO, Mr. Reggie Fils-Aime, said that he was in talks with Take-Two Interactive, parent of GTA developer Rockstar Games.

Fils-Aime stated, “…The fact is there will be M-rated content on the Wii console. EA has already announced that they’re bringing ‘The Godfather’ to our console. And we want every single best-selling game to be available on Wii. Whatever that content is.”

My Thoughts:
I am not the biggest GTA fan out there, but I think that this title will only help Wii reach a mass audience. I am really hoping that this title is going to make an appearance in the console, just to shut the cries and ramblings of the word “kiddie console”. The Wii has a wide range of games and this would only broaden their horizons. Plus, we would probably gain back a whole new slew of gamers that wouldn’t normally play a Nintendo system. What do you guys think, Does Nintendo need GTA?
