Nintendo Wii Wins Round 1 Editorial

Any way you slice it, it seems as though the innovative Nintendo Wii will be winning round 1 this coming holiday season. Sony seems to have really dropped the ball on their 3rd entry into the console wars, and I hope that Nintendo exploits that. It has been far too long that the king of innovative and entertaining games has been playing second fiddle to Sony and Microsoft. In my opinion, Nintendo has always been the pioneers of “entertaining games” and this holiday season I hope everyone sees that.

My hopes for this year are simple. I hope that Nintendo gains back gamers with their awesome price point and their innovative games. I hope that gamers fall back in love with the Big N all over again. Whether you’re a new fan of Nintendo, a “fanboy, or simply are looking for a different way to play, Wii is going to be the system of choice.

With recent reports of Wii’s production being “positive” to say the least, it looks as though Nintendo can really gain a great amount of market share that they so desperately need. This holiday season, the king of games goes back on their thrown! Are wii ready gamers?

Now that I got that off my chest, What are you guys playing this weekend!?!?! Personally, I hope to get some playing time with Baten Kaitos 2.

1 Million, How About 7 Million!? *RUMOR*

The infamous Joystiq.comstates that over 2 million Wiis were produced in the third quarter of 2006, and should be easy for Nintendo to reach projected launch numbers for the console in every region none to man.

Also according to them, the possibility of producing 7-9 million more systems by year’s end is not looking too shabby either. If this rumor bodes true, I am sure we will have a plethora of systems by years end. I highly suggest that we file this one under the rumor folder. As always, we will keep you updated.
