Say Hello to Nintendo Wii!
Whether the game is fun, innovative, violent or “gimmicky”, it seems like the Wii truly has something for everyone. With this recent announcement coupled with The Godfather, this year will be rated M for mature.

Do you guys believe that Nintendo needs these types of games in order for the Wii to succeed? I know it expands that genre’s of games available on the system but violent games have never really had a place on the family friendly Nintendo. What are your thoughts?

Do I think the Wii needs these kinds of games to succeed? I guess it depends on what you mean by success. Profit-wise, the Wii will be successful with or without these games. However, I do think the Wii needs these kinds of games to be commercially successful. Why? Because it broadens the range of genres available for potential customers. That’s one of the reasons the PS2 was such a hit because it had a lot of different games for different customers.
i think could benafit from any type of game, for too long nintendo has been looked at as “kiddish” now the day of reckoning has come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111
I do have to say that I agree with you. They may not be my favorite types of games (I have a 1 yr. old at home) but having these titles def. helps broaden their horizons and helps Nintendo shed their “kiddie” image a little.
I’m all for more mature gaming content for Wii to help it appeal to more gamers who like that kinda thing, but I hate that their remaking basically a port of The Godfather and Scarface for Wii. I don’t want M rated ports, I want new, original M-rated games!
