A new report suggests that EAD Software Development Group No. 3 at Nintendo is currently working on the next installment of The Legend of Zelda for the Wii penned for a 2009 release.
One cannot cannot fathom the possibilities of a new Zelda built from the ground up for the Wii rather than a straight port. I can only begin to imagine….
On the other hand, Mario Kart is being developed by Group No. 1 for 2008, while Wii Motor Sports is in development by Group No. 2. Keep in mind that this report is a rumor and will be heavily looked into by me….More as is develops.

it would be awesome in a first person perspective and do everything in 1:1 motion
Legend of Zelda in first person? I completely disagree.
I think one of the good things about the Zelda games is how you interract with the environment while seeing yourself. It allows for better control to maneuver and battle rather than having to turn around and shoot behind you to grab that pesky orc, and more.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we had footage of the game at E3 next year and it was ready to go in 2009.
E3… Yeah maybe. But it just wont be the same E3.
third person close over the shoulder?
I’d like some radical changes. Toon shading, no first person at all in the game, third person camera that can be repositioned at most any angle and stuck there like in Wind Waker, an ocean of land– a streaming outdoor world like WoW, GTA, and Elder Scrolls Oblivion, up to six player cooperative multiplayer with the four sword and Link, Zelda, and Ganon all playable, online, and quite possibly most important– the one to one sword controls.
Items: I want new masks, maybe one or two that make the characters transform, but mostly elemental powers or things coming out of the crown similar to Midna’s mask. Imagine Link with a mask with fluorescent green snakes flowing out of the top that act as shields grabbing incoming arrows out of the air and turning enemies that get to close to stone by directing the mass of serpents to look at them in unison.
There could be masks that function like the rod of the heavens from Twilight Princess but on a grander scale allowing you to bring to life giant beast-like statues (covered in vines, flowers, and moss) and ride them anywhere out in the overworld.
There could be a mask that gives you Abe-esque (of Oddworld) powers to posses the feeble minded?
Maybe you could find and wear Midna’s mask and control the orange hand coming out of it with the remote grabbing enemies like Pikmin.
Those are some awesome ideas Dustin! I think that there is potential in all of them for a really great gameplay feature.
Here is a link to a thread on Nsider I’ve been posting in regarding drastic changes for the next Zelda game. I hope you all check it out and enjoy it: http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/board/message?board.id=revolution&message.id=3434242&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
i only agree with the wii connect 24 bit
How about a harder game (harder enemies, bosses, etc.), fight REAL people, like bad Hylians or something instead of just monsters, and PLEASE add a JUMP BUTTON!!!
