Metroid Dread Not Dead?

If you don’t like the scanning portions of Metroid Prime, you better get used to it!

Apparently somewhere in the second half of the game there will be a control panel to scan that contains the following message:

“Experiment status report update. Metroid project ‘Dread’ is nearing the final stages of completion.”

Interesting indeed.

Here are some details regarding this new title for Nintendo Wii:

• Defined as Pokemon meets Tim Burton. Story driven action RPG.
• Build, experiment, explore, customize, fight…
• Help Professor Fuseless fight the “bad monsters”
• Monster creation: big on customization, 300 items, 150 monster parts (bio or mechanical). Parts include legs, arms, body, head…
• Wiimote and nunchuk creation process in form of minigames: wielding by pointing, “brain toss”, etc. Depending on how well you do, your monster will perform better/worse
• Turn based fighting with your HP, attack, defense, energy points depending on your building process. Special attacks (transformations), you can choose which part to attack, you have to recharge your energy.
• In development since Nov 2006. Summer 2008 release.
• Adam Beechen script, Crispin Hands music
• possible online features (DC, photo sharing)

Sounds good to me.

Metroid Receives a 9.5 on IGN

If you are one of the 10 million plus Wii owners, chances are you are eagerly awaiting the release of Metroid Prime 3 Corruption that is set to be released this week on a Nintendo Wii near you. After getting a perfect 10 score in the recent Nintendo power, I am positive that your waiting has turned into an obsession that simply cannot be ignored.

Some may argue that Nintendo Power gave the game a perfect 10 because the magazine is produced by Nintendo themselves but this is not the case gamers. Simply put, Metroid Prime is the game of the summer and all Wii owners with a pulse should purchase this title.
