Get ready for the flood gates to open gamers; Nintendo held a press conference today and here is all the news (Spelling errors may be rampant on this post so bear with it). Here it comes:

-Sonic will be playable in Smash Bros! (This was rumored for a long time and is now confirmed!)

- Nintendo plans to start a service center to help people set up the internet at their home, in order to aid them in getting online with the Wii.

- A DS download service is coming that will allow us to download DS demos from our Wii! This is awesome news and I cannot wait for this. Very smart move Nintendo.

- Wii Fit 12/1 in Japan. 8,800 yen

- Tons of enw channels announced!! They include: Check Mii Out Channel (November for Japan), Everybody’s Nintendo Channel (DS demo channel), Pokemon Farm is a channel as well.

-Here is a List of titles shown from the event- Dragon Quest IX, Fire Emblem DS, Mario Kart Wii, Famicom Wars Wii (Battalion Wars II), Super Mario Stadium Baseball, Wii Music, Star Soldier R Wii (WiiWare), Mojipittan Wii (WiiWare), Doctor Mario Wii (WiiWare), Pokemon Farm Wii (Wiiware title - Pokemon Diamond/Pearl transfers), Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and the Promised Land (WiiWare title), Monster Hunter 3 Wii

Mario Kart to feature…Motocycles

-Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Kart Wii will also include motorcycles with Wario being able to ride one. Why are there motorcycles in a Mario Kart game

My Thoughts:
Just when you think Nintendo pulled out all the stops with Wii, they hold a press conference that nearly solidifies them as this generations undisputed champion. As some of you may or may not agree with the aforementioned statement, one thing is for certain, the buzz that has been surrounding Wii since it’s release has just gown yet again.

Nintendo’s press conference today really took the gaming community by storm and displayed to us that hardcore gamers and casual gamers alike will be enjoying Wii for years to come.

With the WiiWare channel finally taking shape, with crazy delicious titles to boot and exclusive rights to the highly popular and very lucrative franchise Monster Hunter 3, Nintendo is showing us why they are this generation’s leader. When my wife is getting giddy over the announcements of these new titles (mainly Dr Mario and Wii Fit), you can tell Nintendo is here to expand gaming to the masses.

It’s really nice to see Nintendo gain their rightful thrown as the king of the gaming world and I truly hope that they stay there. Nintendo Wii is extremely addictive and really brings gaming into a more social realm rather than a specific target audience. I love the blend of titles that were shown at their conference and the fact that Nintendo has not been taking a back seat to the Wii’s phenomenal success, is truly is a testament to the company and to the gaming community as a whole. Thank You Nintendo!

Hold onto your hats gamer fans Nintendo has announced today that none other than SONIC THE HEDGEHOG will be joining the ranks of fighters in this years release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.  I am sure you are all as shocked and enjoyed as we here at Gameonnintendo are.  So to be a good sport check out the pics below and click the sonic links to the right under Nintendo news as the Smash Bros.
