Some more news on the rain checks
So the Wii rain check progam we reported last week has a few more details, according to retailer GameStop, which will be distributing the coupons for the prized consoles.
The first one you need to know is that contrary to what Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said in his conference call, GameStop will only be offering the vouchers this Friday, the 21st instead of the 20th and 21st as first announced.
Also, if you head down to a GameStop store, you will only be able to reserve one Wii per household. And if you’re paying the $249 in advance at one store, expect to pick it up at that same store. When it arrives, sometime in January, you’ll get a phone call and then you just head down to the original GameStop store to pick it up.
Funny how the 360 and PS3 don’t need rain checks…Are they even selling consoles this Christmas?
A little shopping advice for all you Wii wanna be owners
NEW YORK - To deal with frustration among holiday shoppers hunting for its Wii game console, Nintendo Co. and retailer GameStop Corp. are launching a rain check program.
“We expect this to be a great way for consumers who desperately want a Wii to have something to put under the tree,” Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said last week.
The rain checks will be available at the regular Wii system price, $249.99, on Thursday and Friday, and will entitle buyers to get the Nintendo console before Jan. 29.
For all of those hungry for new Emergency Mayhem Screens, look no further then right here! For all of those who may not know what this title is, think Crazy Taxi only this time you are saving as many people as you can instead of driving them around to their specified locations.
Apparently the game features over sixty minigames to help save the town! Being a fan of the Crazy Taxi series, I will be placing this one on my radar…. Budget prices anyone?
