Yeah I am interested to see how exactly they use the online portion of this title. It seems promising though and at least they’re offering it.

Kmaxx, the simple answer to your question is that no, the publishers can’t make those titles online or have downloadable content because their egos have swelled to such great proportions, they have lost touch with the gamer. No matter what, enough people continue to scream for and support the games that they fill they can gimp them and still make all the money in the world they’ll ever need.

Look at Activision: It was announced today that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, a blatantly obvious spinoff, will be priced $10 higher than GHIII for Wii because they figured out they could price it higher, keep the same features, and still sell enough units to satisfy them. EA came out and said they wouldn’t add downloadable content to Rock Band Wii because the territory hasn’t been explored yet and they weren’t prepared to.

Okay EA, riddle me this: Why can YOU not be the ones to explore the “territory” and surprise us all with how much you care about the game? Now you just seem lazy, hardly good publicity.

No, I will not be purchasing any Guitar Hero or Rock Band made for Wii until I feel like my interests as a consumer and gamer are acknowledged by these companies.

Kudos to SEGA for WiFi in Samba, but unfortunately in my ever cynical nature, I fear that we’ll see nothing beyond scoreboards. But damn, I’ll be even more excited for the game if we get battles over WiFi. Thanks for reading my rant….it had to be said and I’ll gladly repost said rant on the forums if needed. =P
