Nintendo has literally been on a roll since the Wii has come out. Software sales have been decent (Resident Evil 4, Guitar Hero, Rayman, Red Steel and the new sales stretcher Boom Blox) and a year and a half later, you still cannot find a system anywhere. The recent numbers in Japan also paint a rather optimistic picture where the Nintendo Wii is currently outselling the nearest competition 3-1. Check out the quote below and see for yourself:

Nintendo Co Ltd’s (7974.OS: Quote, Profile, Research) Wii video game console outsold Sony Corp’s (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research) PlayStation 3 by more than 3-to-1 in Japan in July, a game magazine publisher said. Nintendo, creator of Mario, Zelda and other iconic game characters, sold 171,851 units of the Wii in the four weeks ending July 27, compared with 54,823 units of the PS3, Enterbrain said on Friday

My Thoughts:
I am very pleased to see the my favorite video game company is back on top and although I am loving the system to death, I really want to see some more hardcore titles. I think that the floodgates are about to be open yet again for the Wii so I am certain we will have nothing to worry about. Congrats Nintendo and keep it up!
