Wii 2 in 2012?

Posted on Mar 12, 2010 08:54:29 AM

…at GDC I struck a bit of a niblet when a developer said Nintendo told him it would be ready to roll with Wii 2 in 2012. Anybody with a brain would probably guess as much, but it is even so always refreshing to hear so from a semi-official source.

Anyone with a pulse would tell you that Nintendo is already working on a new console (As they have stated in the past countless times) but giving the new system a rumored date has piqued our interest.

What would you guys like to see in the new “Wii “2?

Not just Hd, how about 3D?
    Wireless nunchuk
    Integrated Wiimote and WiiMotion+
    DVD playback.
    Larger harddrive
Some sort of display screen on the Wiimote.
improved sound quality from the Wiimote and use of its microphone.
    A DS2 dock.
    More firend/game/console codes.

Just some ideas. (ok. maybe not that last one, eh)

That article was originally written in 2008. Have any of your requests been fulfilled in the current generation (since the article)?

No flip-out keyboard but a wireless keyboard is available.

Zelda seems to be getting a shakeup. NSMBWii was the first of its kind in 20 years. That’s a bit of a shakeup.

    Anything else?

we will see on Zelda… LOL. But it seems like its heading that way….

I think I see the next “big” thing for gaming and I am planning on writing an article on it. I know everyone will be on the 3-D train but for some reason, I don’t see Nintendo going down that road….
