Wii Sims Online?
In a recent edition of IGN’s popular N-Query, Matt Casamassina had the following to say when asked if Sims for the Nintendo Wii would be online:
I recently interviewed EA about the game - I’ll post the transcript soon - and the developer wouldn’t come right out and say it, but made very clear to me that it is exploring an online component for MySims. The signage you saw only strengthens my belief that the game will have it. Oh, and on a side note, I’ve chatted with some third parties now who already have online components in their forthcoming Wii projects. It’s coming, guys - Pokemon Battle Revolution kicks it off in the near future, but in the next six months you’re going to start seeing a wave of third party games that take Wii online, too. Developers have had the online SDK for months now and the next wave of titles will incorporate it.
Well it seems as though Nintendo is finally taking notice and implementing some online components in their future endeavors. We all knew that it was coming with the release of Nintendo’s own Pokemon franchise this June; it’s just great to hear that 3rd parties are now lining up to get in on Nintendo “Wii-Fi.”
More as it develops.

One Million Sold
One million, gamers. One million units for the Nintendo Wii has already been sold. Nintendo’s newest phenomenon has swept America (selling 50% of the million) and Japan alike and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow any time soon. The Wii is less than three weeks old, but it’s already reached the major sales landmark. Kyodo News reports that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, during a speech given in Tokyo on the 7th, revealed that the system has crossed the one million mark in worldwide sales.
Good news for the big N and great news for the industry in general. I cannot wait to see what happens next year when the system goes online and Mario, Super Smash, Bwii, Super Mario Strikers, Metroid and a ton of other exclusives come out for Nintendo’s juggernaut.

4 Million by Year’s End!
Our good pal and fearless leader Reggie Fils Aime has stated that Nintendo is currently on track to meeting their target of 4 million Wiis shipped globally before the years end.
All systems are go for reaching the 4-million target we have in our financials by Dec. 31, Reggie said at the Reuters Media Summit in New York. We will sell everything we make so now its simply a manufacturing thing.
With over 600,000 units sold to date and the growing popularity of Nintendo’s innovative Wii, it looks like Nintendo is poised to take over the gaming industry.
