If you are an avid Gameonnintendo reader (which you better be otherwise Kmaxx will hunt you down), we here at this site have something that we try to do every Saturday entitled “Replay Saturday”. Basically we pick out a title from our video game collection that we haven’t played in a while and replay it.
Today’s weapon of choice is a title that literally put the Wii on the map; that title is Wii Sports.
Get ready guys because I am proud to announce that Replay Saturday is back! Way back in the day (which always falls on a Tuesday), I conjured up an idea of having a day where video gamers around the world dust off a title that they haven’t played in a while and enjoy their “forgotten” gem at least for a days time.
For a while “Replay Saturday” was sweeping the nation but I have seemed to get away from this momentous occasion….Until now! Thank you for the emails asking us to bring back this missed article and I will be sure to keep up on it.
Today’s Replay Saturday game for yours truly: Mario Kart DS!
Mario Kart DS was one of this generations best titles and I am pleased to bring this title “out of retirement”
If you are an avid Gameonnintendo reader you may have noticed that typically every Saturday we have introduced a new segment on our site entitled “replay Saturday.” The basic idea behind it is I decide to pick up one of my games that I haven’t touched in a while and replay the title for that day or so, and hopefully fall back in love with the game. It’s a notion that is sweeping the nation and I hope you all join me in replaying some of your old gems.
Today’s source of entertainment: Super Mario Bros. 3 for the VC.
For the 1st two replay Saturday’s I decided to pick a title from my DS library but today I decided to really bring myself back. Back to a time when Fred Savage was still a little boy and he wandered around the streets with a strange, quiet boy who had a knack for video games and the mullet was some-what in style….
I’m talking about a time when every house hold had a NES system and one of the most popular title’s that was on every gamers mind was the pudgy plumber Mario and his latest adventure, Super Mario 3. Super Mario 3 is arguably (and I do say arguably) the best Mario title to every grace any console and was truly a revolution in its time.
This title has held up rather well over the years and is still unmatched in terms of 2-D gameplay. After playing through a lot of this nostalgic gem, I have to say gamers that I am quickly falling back in love with the 2-D platformer and I really wish that this genre of game didn’t go the way of the doo doo (I guess I should try to think of a different analogy because the genre is not completely gone).
I could go on and on about how great this title is but I am sure most of you have experienced this game for yourselves. If you are a younger gamer who has never played this “oldie but a goodie” of a game, I strongly urge you to check it out and get in touch with one of the pioneers that helped create the video game industry.

This week’s title: New Super Mario Bros.
System: Nintendo DS
There is a reason why this title is still selling like hot cakes; it’s a phenomenal piece of work! Super Mario Bros. DS is the pinnacle of what every other 2-D platformer should be… Oh wait, that genre of game is quickly going the way of the doo-doo. In my humble opinion, this title alone can breathe new life into this missed genre and I hope that Nintendo releases a sequel to this fantastic game.
If you are an avid Gameon reader, you will notice that I rarely ever beat any games just because I get too distracted whenever a shiny new title is released (I think I have ADHD….but I digress). When I originally purchased New Super Mario Bros. for DS there was no stopping my quest to save Peach. I still think Peach should upgrade her security system on her castle, but I am extremely happy she has not because I cannot speak more highly of this game.
Currently I am playing through this title again (after all this is REPLAY SATURDAY!), and I am quickly falling in love with the spot on controls and the unspeakable charm that only a Mario title can deliver. I urge all of you who have a DS, please play this title!

I had epiphany gamers! Since Saturday is usually a slow news day (I do say usually because you never know), I have decided to declare this day “Replay Saturday”. Every Saturday from now on, I plan on picking up a title that I have either stopped playing or have not played in a while and give you my impressions of the game. Maybe you guys can get in on this new trend and let us know what you’re playing on this awesome “Replay Saturday”….
First up for me personally is Yoshi’s Island for Nintendo DS. Why I have stopped playing this title is still a question that I cannot answer, but man I am glad that I picked this one back up today. I forgot how truly fun this title is and I really hope I can finish this game up within this week.
To me- Yoshi’s Island is a timeless classic that I am thoroughly enjoying with fantastic components that makes video games fun. I am currently nearing completion of the title and man has the difficultly ramped up. I can’t express how happy I am that I decided to start off with this game as my inaugural “Replay Saturday” title
