Yes that was a reference to the old school jingle for Flinstones vitamins…But I digress…

Nintendo has officially announced that six of its first party-published titles for the Wii have sold more than a million copies world-wide. Drum roll please… And they are

Wii Sports - 11.1 Million sold (The game is bundled in every Wii system except in Japan)
Wii Play - 6.3 Million sold
Mario Party 8 - 2.9 Million sold
Big Brain Academy - 1.8 Million sold
Mario Strikers Charged - 1.3 Million sold

The sixth title is Twilight Princess, which a total figure was mysteriously missing. I can only hope that the “incorruptable” Metroid makes an appearance on this impressive lost, along with everyone’s favorite plumber, Mario after he is released. Good news for the Big N, but do you guys think they should include Wii Sports in the list…I mean it does come with the system in most parts of the world.

Metroid Sales

Posted on Sep 4, 2007 08:24:14 AM

Sales for the “incorruptable” Metroid Prime 3 are in and it looks like it’s doing rather well. The following is a quote from CVG:

Nintendo’s flagship shooter Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has debuted in the States with a bang, taking the top sales spot in the all-format chart and even outselling 2K’s awesome Bioshock in its first week.

Metroid managed to shift over 400,000 copies in total, which must be big news for developers ogling at Nintendo’s console and proves that traditional “hardcore” games can still sell on the home of Wii Sports and Cooking Mama.

I can only hope that the above quote is true. The final chapter in the Prime series is one of the best games I have played in recent memory and should sell swiftly. Have you bought it yet?
